Shangri-La Hotel, Tangshan
Shangri-La Hotel, Tangshan will be located in the Phoenix New Town development on the north side of the city adjacent to the new financial district. The hotel will have 436 guest rooms and suites, some with views of the large public park to the northwest of the hotel. The lobby lounge will be located within an atrium with park views, around which the meeting space, including a 1,375-square-metre grand ballroom, will be located. The hotel will offer an all-day dining restaurant, a Chinese restaurant with Cantonese cuisine and local favorites, and specialty restaurants.
Tangshan is located in the central section of Bohai Bay, with the Yanshan Mountain to the north, Qinghuangdao City to the east and Bohai Sea to the South. Beijing and Tianjin are located 180km and 120km respectively to the west. Facing D.P.R.Korea and South Korea across Bohai Sea, Tangshan has long been known as the treasured land east of Beijing.
An important coastal port on the Bohai Bay, Tangshan is rich in energy resources, minerals, limestone and gold. The city is a center for energy and raw material production and manufactures glass, pottery, pharmaceuticals, electronics, and automobiles, producing 1,000 cars per day.  Phoenix New Town will be the new financial and commercial hub for the city and will include a high tech industrial park with a new luxury residential district. The city is a railway hub of north China and a high speed railway from Tianjin to Tangshan is planned for completion in 2011.
